4 Steps to Choosing a Network Marketing Business

January 17th, 2010

The network marketing business is responsible for billions of dollars of sales in goods and services each and every year. You most likely have come in contact with a network marketing company at some point in your lifetime, especially if you have attended a home party at a friend or relatives house. Network marketing is definitely here to stay but the question is “How do YOU choose a network marketing business for yourself?” The choices are endless so here are some ideas for you to consider before jumping in:

1. You want to get in with a company that’s been around at LEAST for 5 years, has solid financial backing, excellent management and a “distributor first” philosophy. The company should also have a long-term goal and not just be out for the quick buck. This may sound a little over-zealous at first but you need to be careful. So many companies have the right intentions but barely make it out of the starting gate. You’re looking for someone who has been through that “first five years” and have proven themselves. So often potential distributors are told to get in on the “ground floor” but often this ground will cave in leaving many people very unhappy. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give these companies a look, just go into it with eyes wide open.

2. Look for high quality, unique and reasonably priced products or services. Ideally, products that are consumable so that customers have to purchase them over and over again. Unlike “traditional” companies who have to shell out dollar after dollar in advertising (just picture Super Bowl ads), network marketing companies have their distributors advertising for them. This allows the company to make superior products, all things being equal. And it must be a consumable product. The idea is that the customer will be so pleased with their product that once they run out, they’ll need to buy more

3. A compensation plan that’s fair to both full-time and part-time distributors alike. As mentioned earlier, a successful Network Marketing company will have a “distributor first” philosophy. This should be plainly seen simply by taking a look at the compensation plan. All it takes is some simple math to find out how much you’ll need to sell and how many distributors you’ll need underneath you in order to be profitable. Most people don’t take the necessary time out to do the math and end up getting enamored by the fancy potential income charts put out by the company.

4. Training and support for your team. Many companies do provide training and promotional materials for their distributors but sometimes it’s hard to find that balance between product promotion and training. Be wary of companies that charge high prices for their promotional materials. You are investing your money to advertise for them so the company should not seek to make a profit from you here; however, many companies do.

Keeping these 4 ideas in mind before jumping into a network marketing business will do wonders for your sales and your peace of mind as well.

Network Marketing Goals – Your Road Map to Success

January 11th, 2010

What are network-marketing goals?

Network marketing goals are the road map for your future network marketing success, your destination. There is not one network-marketing distributor who wants or expects to wake up and realize he/she has spent $20,000 this year in advertising and product to build his network-marketing business with nothing to show for it.

Every year people spend thousands on advertising and product without realizing an acceptable profit. Ninety-five percent of MLM distributors fail in their new business within the first year.. Does this have to happen? No. Do you get into the car without a route in mind when you are headed to the grocery store? Are you just going to drive aimlessly, or do you make sure you know where the store you need is located? Does your road map have directions or are you riding with your husband /boyfriend? Men don’t generally want to stop and ask directions (all women know this).

Setting Network Marketing Opportunity Goals:

Set short-term network marketing opportunity goals, which can be 3 months to 1 year. Long-term network marketing opportunity goals are normally 2 to 10 years. These time frames can be adjusted and you want to keep flexibility in your plan. » Read more: Network Marketing Goals – Your Road Map to Success

January 8th, 2010

So hear you are with a new business, or at least a new part – time venture. You bought into a network marketing program and you can’t wait to talk to all your friends and family about. You have sat down with your new network marketing business partners and figured out your schedule, you WILL be at every Tuesday night meeting, every Thursday training call and will recruit 2 people every week.

Then after about 4-6 months the reality sets into your networking business. Recruiting two people a week as turned into one to two a month at best. You hear the same thing over an over from your up line in your networking business. The room is filled with about 98% of existing IBO’s and where are the new prospects? The team may be growing, but your personal business, well maybe……,

So why is this? Why do these network marketing business fail at such an alarming rate? Folks its so obvious, you are going to kick yourself when I say this. The name of the game is Marketing. Do you know of ANY business that has been built by word of mouth?

You know the McDonald’s story, the inspirational story that is told in every network marketing seminar. Was McDonald’s built at somebody’s home meeting and they brought their friends, no. Was Wal-Mart, they other favorite story, built by word of mouth, no.

So why do we think we are going to build a massive business this way? Because your up line did, right. Ask them to prove it, that they actually started with their friends and family and that they are actually making what they say they are making in their network marketing business.

Network marketing is an awesome way to make residual income, let me make that very clear. Network marketing companies have a lot of great products out there. The issue is Marketing, if you don’t know how to market your product or service properly your network marketing business will fail.

Go take a trip on line and search for the truth about your company. Then look for answers, not from your company but from outside independent business people and get their opinions. Trust me there are answers to your problems, there are great marketing strategies and methods available.

Whatever you do, DO NOT QUIT! You can make your network marketing business work, you just need the correct answers, methods and strategies.
