There are hundreds of network marketing companies, so it’s important that you choose the right network marketing business so you ensure your success. One of the main things you should be looking for is a company that has been in business for at least five years. If you’re going to be putting in a lot of time and effort, you want to be sure that it’s going to pay off for many years to come. Choose a company that has been around for a long time, since this is one sign of success. Many network marketing companies fail within the first two years. Don’t become part of that failure.

Find out if the business is well capitalized. This means they have enough cash to be able not only to continue to grow but also to be able to maintain a stable structure even when things get a little slow. They also need to have enough capital to have a top-notch management team. Good management is essential for any company to succeed and network marketing is no different. They should also be able to keep up with all the latest technology that is being introduced every year, such as the latest database capabilities. And lastly, they should of course have the capital to be able to pay you your commissions. You can find information about publicly traded companies, because they’re required to disclose all of their financial information once every 90 days. But if the network marketing company is privately held, search online for customer and partner reviews.

It’s important to choose a top network marketing company that sells unique products or services. With so much competition out there you want to associate yourself with a product that stands out from the rest and is one that people just can’t do without. You’ll also need to believe in the product you’re selling or you’ll have a hard time convincing people to buy. A product you’re enthusiastic about is going to be conveyed to customers as enthusiasm for your company. And it’s this enthusiasm that is going to convince a person that joining your network marketing team is a great idea filled with advantages such as working from home and earning a primary or second income.

Perhaps a better question to ask would be “Why Not Network Marketing?”

Of all the various types of home businesses, Network Marketing has proven itself over the years to be the leading method by which the average person can achieve above average results.

Thousands of people, just like you, join Network Marketing companies every single day. Whether you’re only looking to make a few hundred dollars extra each month or create a large residual income, Network Marketing can help you achieve your goals.

“But what exactly is Network Marketing?”

Network Marketing is a method of moving products from the manufacturer to the consumer via word of mouth advertising. Instead of the middleman (wholesaler or jobber) taking his or her cut before moving the product to the retailer, the ability to earn that money is passed directly on to you, the Network Marketing distributor.

For example, a traditional brick and mortar business model goes something like this:

Manufacturer -> Wholesaler -> Retailer -> Consumer

The manufacturer creates the product and sells it to the wholesaler/jobber who then raises the price and moves the product to the retailer. Since the retailer is in business to make a profit, he too must raise the price. The end effect is that the consumer could be paying a lot more than they should be for that particular product.

The Network Marketing business model is somewhat different.

Network Marketing Company -> Distributor (You) -> Consumer

In this example you can see that the Network Marketing Company is selling the products directly to you, the distributor, and you move then on to the end consumer. This allows you, the distributor, to receive the difference in price from wholesale to retail, which would, in a traditional business model, be taken by the wholesaler and retailer.

But that’s only part of it. When you help someone else get started in his or her own Network Marketing business, you will receive an override, or residual, on the volume of business that person does, which can, in and of itself, end up being a large portion of your overall earnings.

“But I’ve heard that Network Marketing has a 95% failure rate.”

This is true of all small businesses, home and traditional brick and mortar, not just Network Marketing, but the figure tends to be incredibly misleading. People quit things all the time for various reasons, not just Network Marketing. Maybe they didn’t understand that Network Marketing does require work, or they don’t have enough time to build it right now, or possibly the time just isn’t right for them.

Whatever the reason people quit, they don’t want to admit to themselves why they quit, so they end up blaming Network Marketing in general or this or that company in particular. This is why Network Marketing gets such a bad rap in the media.

But thousands upon thousands of people worldwide are earning a portion of or a large part of their incomes directly from Network Marketing. So the business model does work…if you work it.

Whether you get involved with Network Marketing or not is your decision. I’d recommend that you keep and open mind, do your due diligence, investigate several different companies, and then make your decision, based not other people’s opinions, but your own research.

The best network marketing business is the one you believe in and has a solid foundation that will support you in your network marketing career with the company. A great network marketing company has a certain feel to it that allows to feel as if this is a family you feel a part of. With so many network marketing companies available to choose from, why would anyone partner with a company if it did not feel right.

Still, a gut feeling about a company is not enough these days when trying to determine what network marketing company to go with. There are many different variables to consider when making choices and narrowing down which company to go with, where you can hang your hat and achieve real wealth.

1. One of the first things to consider is how long the company has been in business. If the network marketing company has been in business for more than 5 years, this is considered a good thing. The company is doing a many of the right things. Most network marketing companies will fail in their first two years.

A company may look great, have the right products, the best compensation plan on the market and a crack team behind it but if it has only been a business for a couple of years, then let it go. You are trying to eliminate risk, so don’t even harbor any consideration about it for now. There is nothing more heartbreaking than working day and night for a downline, then the company goes out of business. Where does that leave you?

2. Is there a large demand in the market for the company’s products and are those products of high caliber?

It is amazing that many network marketers will look over the compensation plans, then jump on board without a second thought to the products. Choosing a company that offers products that are in high demand within a growth industry is essential. A large part of the network marketing business is selling the products to loyal customers that keep coming back for the best products. These repeat customers are also some of the best prospects you will have for possible inclusion in your downline.

3. Is the company offering a solid compensation plan that allows you to really grow a solid downline for residual income?

There are many multi-level compensation plans that companies will have in place. Some of them may look good at a glance, but it is up to you to really understand what the company is offering you. If you cannot understand the compensation plan, then it is probably not a simple one that you will be able to explain to prospects either. If you have a hard time understanding the plan, think about how difficult it will be for you to try to recruit a solid downline when compensation plans come up in the conversation.

4. Is the network marketing company in question committed to you reaching your goals?

True support and commitment to the home based network marketers from the company needs to be firmly intact. From the company’s president on down the chain, everyone should be helping and supporting each other. If you do not understand how something is done or what the product lines are about, then these questions should be readily available to you. If the company is quick to shuffle off any questions that you might have to someone else, it’s a good bet that you will not receive the proper support you will need to learn the business at hand.

Hopefully, these tips will help you make some decisive choices to narrow down your search for a good multi-level company to partner up with. It also might be helpful for you make your own list of things you are looking for when choosing the right network company to become involved with.

The network marketing business is responsible for billions of dollars of sales in goods and services each and every year. You most likely have come in contact with a network marketing company at some point in your lifetime, especially if you have attended a home party at a friend or relatives house. Network marketing is definitely here to stay but the question is “How do YOU choose a network marketing business for yourself?” The choices are endless so here are some ideas for you to consider before jumping in:

1. You want to get in with a company that’s been around at LEAST for 5 years, has solid financial backing, excellent management and a “distributor first” philosophy. The company should also have a long-term goal and not just be out for the quick buck. This may sound a little over-zealous at first but you need to be careful. So many companies have the right intentions but barely make it out of the starting gate. You’re looking for someone who has been through that “first five years” and have proven themselves. So often potential distributors are told to get in on the “ground floor” but often this ground will cave in leaving many people very unhappy. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give these companies a look, just go into it with eyes wide open.

2. Look for high quality, unique and reasonably priced products or services. Ideally, products that are consumable so that customers have to purchase them over and over again. Unlike “traditional” companies who have to shell out dollar after dollar in advertising (just picture Super Bowl ads), network marketing companies have their distributors advertising for them. This allows the company to make superior products, all things being equal. And it must be a consumable product. The idea is that the customer will be so pleased with their product that once they run out, they’ll need to buy more

3. A compensation plan that’s fair to both full-time and part-time distributors alike. As mentioned earlier, a successful Network Marketing company will have a “distributor first” philosophy. This should be plainly seen simply by taking a look at the compensation plan. All it takes is some simple math to find out how much you’ll need to sell and how many distributors you’ll need underneath you in order to be profitable. Most people don’t take the necessary time out to do the math and end up getting enamored by the fancy potential income charts put out by the company.

4. Training and support for your team. Many companies do provide training and promotional materials for their distributors but sometimes it’s hard to find that balance between product promotion and training. Be wary of companies that charge high prices for their promotional materials. You are investing your money to advertise for them so the company should not seek to make a profit from you here; however, many companies do.

Keeping these 4 ideas in mind before jumping into a network marketing business will do wonders for your sales and your peace of mind as well.

What are network-marketing goals?

Network marketing goals are the road map for your future network marketing success, your destination. There is not one network-marketing distributor who wants or expects to wake up and realize he/she has spent $20,000 this year in advertising and product to build his network-marketing business with nothing to show for it.

Every year people spend thousands on advertising and product without realizing an acceptable profit. Ninety-five percent of MLM distributors fail in their new business within the first year.. Does this have to happen? No. Do you get into the car without a route in mind when you are headed to the grocery store? Are you just going to drive aimlessly, or do you make sure you know where the store you need is located? Does your road map have directions or are you riding with your husband /boyfriend? Men don’t generally want to stop and ask directions (all women know this).

Setting Network Marketing Opportunity Goals:

Set short-term network marketing opportunity goals, which can be 3 months to 1 year. Long-term network marketing opportunity goals are normally 2 to 10 years. These time frames can be adjusted and you want to keep flexibility in your plan.

Examples of a network marketing opportunity short-term and long-term goal:

Short-term Goal: I would like to add one new person every month to my business each month.

Long-Term Goal: I would like to achieve ‘master distributor’ level and have built an organization of 2000 people within two years

Break network marketing opportunity goals down into steps:

Research network-marketing opportunities for the “right” one. Take the time to step back and look at your opportunity from an unemotional, purely business perspective.

Research the network marketing industry

Research various network marketing companies

Sign up for your network-marketing opportunity

Set up a schedule to properly train for success in your network-marketing opportunity

Set up network-marketing goals for yourself beginning with the smallest to largest

Implement a plan to move towards your ultimate goal

Aim Your Network Marketing Goals High

What good are setting network-marketing goals if they aren’t stretching your ability? Along with that comes the task of setting realistic goals. What if you are a high school student who has struggled to pull a B or C in Science? Do you think it’s the most achievable goal to become a nuclear scientist? Set a realistic network-marketing goal for you to experience success.

Don’t expect 10K per month in June if you began your network-marketing opportunity in April. Plan to talk to five prospects and make one sale within your first week. You need some network-marketing success quickly and more successes at various points along the way so that you remain motivated.

Now that you are experiencing success, set larger, achievable goals for your 3 to 6 month period in your network-marketing business. For example, your goal may be to have 5 retail clients and 3 business associates signed up within 4 months of beginning your network-marketing business.

Once this goal is achieved, look at your company and set your next goals accordingly. Use a time line in your network-marketing goal setting exercise, but realize there will be obstacles you must over come. The three people you were sure needed your product didn’t buy anything, and the two people who were searching for a network-marketing opportunity didn’t think your business was for them. The new network-marketing distributor you recruited will not implement a plan for themselves. You will have obstacles to overcome. This is the time you turn to your team and their experience to help you keep your spirits up and let you know this happens to everyone if they are in business long enough.

This is a minor setback unless all your eggs were in one basket. If so, you’ll have to start all over. In the case of the high school student, his obstacle is his grades in one of the main disciplines involved as a nuclear scientist…science.

Staying Motivated!

This is hard when there is negative feedback from friends, family and co-workers. You were excited about your network-marketing business. Whether it was intentional or not, you have just had your bubble burst. Family members are normally trying to protect you from getting hurt, and in the process, they step on your dream.

How To Remain Motivated In Your Network-Marketing Opportunity

Talk to your supporters; avoid the rest with news of your network-marketing business opportunity for now.Keep the goal in sight, always thinking of the final outcome.Break it down into smaller pieces so that you have little victories along the way.

Celebrate the little victories.
