Here are 6 network marketing success tips that you can apply to your network marketing business.

Tip #1 – Use one method and perfect it. Too many people try too many methods of prospecting when they are building their network marketing business. As a result, they fail to have success. When building your network marketing business using online strategies, you should master one method first before moving on to the next method. For example, you might start off with using videos. Once you are good at video you can move on to article writing.

Tip #2 – Get comfortable at being uncomfortable. The only sure thing to life is change so accept it and embrace it. Network marketing will feel insurmountable at times. As such you will need to have a support team in place to assist you. Picking the right network marketing opportunity will go far in giving you the support you’ll need along the way.

Tip #3 – The cure for failure is failure. Thomas Watson, the founder of IBM, said: “The key to success is to double your rate of failure.” Thomas Edison one of the greatest inventors ever failed thousands of times before he created the light bulb. The key is to learn from your mistakes and to move forward.

Tip #4 – Have Goals & Step By Step Milestones. You also want to have goals and step by step milestones when building your business. For example, if you are implementing a blogging strategy, step #1 might be to research your keywords. Step #2 might be to add a post based on one of the keywords to your blog, etc.

Tip #5 – Have faith and focus. Success in network marketing is not a sprint it is more of an endurance event. Therefore you will need to have a high level of faith and focus. Otherwise you will give up right before your success breakthrough takes place. This is the number one reason why most people fail in this industry, they lack faith and focus and give up too soon.

Tip #6 – Be a student and follow people who are successful. You must make an effort to consistently learn and develop yourself. You want to identify people who are already successful at what you want to do and learn. In network marketing you want to learn from people who are doing what you want to do. One of my mentors is Mike Dillard, a gentleman that has created tons of free and low cost MLM leads and has taught others how to do the same.

Success in any endeavor requires perseverance and persistence. Anyone can be successful, but in most cases it does not happen overnight. Using these 6 tips will move you forward toward accomplishing any goal.

One of the reasons that so many people are not successful with network marketing is because they give up too early. Now don’t get me wrong it can appear to be a tough business at the beginning. Recruiting, training, selling, promoting, it can seem like a huge learning curve of "things to do" and when you are not used to running a business in that way it can be easier to give up than go on.

Below are 11 steps you can take to ensure you enjoy success with network marketing, stay on the road to success and avoid potential pitfalls.

1. Be prepared to handle rejection.

Who said that any kind of selling was easy? But it all comes down to attitude. If you can understand that a rejection of the opportunity that you are so excited about is not a rejection of you as a person, then you are on your way. "No" must be interpreted as "next". This is easier said than done but it’s the price of success.

2. Be realistic in your expectations.

All new businesses take time to develop and grow. If you go into a network marketing opportunity and raise your bar to a level you can’t reach you will soon become disappointed. By the same token I never want to dampen a persons enthusiasm if they truly believe that they can achieve high numbers in a short time. However, many times unrealistic expectations are set and disappointment often follows.

Would you work out in the gym for an hour and then expect to have rippling muscles? Then why expect a business venture to be off the ground and earning you money within a few weeks? Give it time, this is a new born baby, it takes time to nurture and grow. The potential results are worth the initial effort.

If your attraction to a network marketing company was the sales page that mentioned the salaries of their top recruiters find those people and ask them how long it took them to build their business and how much money and time they had to put into it. This information will give you a clearer picture.

3. Be in it for the long haul

Once you find a reputable company be prepared to stay for the long haul. As mentioned above building your business takes time. The most successful people in life have gone through very trying times but they stuck with it and left a legacy behind. It is often said that tough times don’t last but tough people do. The same is true for those seeking to build a solid residual income. You should commit yourself to at least 3 years before making a decision either way. Yes! That’s right. AT LEAST 3 years. Jumping from one opportunity to the next only shows a lack of decision and stability in your planning.

4. Listen to those who have been successful

Learn from the pros and stick with what works. When you first join a network marketing company it is really easy to "pick holes" in the way things are done. Perhaps you see a better way to achieve something. Well before you rush off and try it contact the "heavy hitters" – the successful people within the company and ask them if it has been tried already. If it ain’t broke then don’t try and fix it.

Be a learner for your first year. Just listen, learn and apply. After you are more established you can always pick up on your idea and if it is a good one then you will have the backing of experience to help you put it in place. Being in a new network marketing company is learning enough for anyone, don’t complicate things by trying to do things your way.

5. Empower your downline members ASAP!

Leveraging other people’s time and skills is the powerful system that lies behind Network Marketing.

Teaching is an important part of the game of building a strong team but some marketers make the mistake of doing too much for their downline members. This often backfires, however, because the downline members become comfortable and depend too heavily on their upline and never grow strong enough to build their own teams.

So it is important that you train your downline members and empower them to take the plunge towards getting going as quickly as possible. Avoid doing too much for them, or making them dependent on contacting you for every little thing.

6. Arrange group rather than one to one discussions

Whenever possible arrange to talk to a group of people at once rather than focus on talking to everyone individually, which will be very time consuming. The best network marketing companies will already have group presentations that you can invite people to attend but you may also want to consider running your own. Other things to try include hosting an online chat room, setting up a toll free number with a recorded message that invites callers to leave their details so that you can return the call.

7. Look for people in need of extra income

Many small businesses are in need to extra revenue to help with cash flow problems. If they offer services they may also be interested in establishing a business that provides passive income – especially if it fits into what they already offer.

The biggest advantage is the fact that you are targeting people who are already motivated and understand what it takes to run a successful business. These individuals will also be networking in their businesses and therefore may be in a position of influence. Professionals that come in contact with a large number of people also make good distributors. The more ‘business minded’ your prospects are the more likely you will recruit them.

8. Make a written plan with all your goals

As a life coach I understand the importance of writing goals down as a way of working towards them. We are more likely to commit to something that is written down, plus you can hang it up within your sight to remind you of what you are working towards when you are in need of motivation. I recommend your top six goals are written out daily and/or read out.

Every business owner should have a goal to which they are aspiring to. If you aim for nothing you are likely to strike it. If your plan is to get to a residual income of $30,000 per month then you should set smaller goals on your way there.

9. Improve your listening and rapport building skills

It is important to improve your listening skills if you want to become a successful network marketer. It is even more important to improve your ability to instantly communicate and bond with people.

At its core, Network Marketing is really people management. If you don’t like dealing with people then this is not for you. You are always going to be in direct or indirect contact with people and so you should brush up on your people skills.

One of those skills that you’ll need to primarily focus on is your listening skills. One of the most common downfalls of MLMers is that they talk too much and don’t listen enough. This applies to the majority of salespeople. You have to always take time to listen to the customer because if you do – they will tell you what they are looking for!

10. Make sure you are continually learning

Stay at your peak at all times by knowing what is going on in your industry. Subscribe to at least one professional MLM journal and a magazine. Attend your company’s meetings and get yourself in with those higher up so that you can be one of the first to learn about new opportunities/changes and pass this on to your team.

11. Produce your own material

If you really want to be known as an expert in your field then you must seriously considering producing your own material. The more opportunity you provide people to see you as someone who knows a lot about what is happening within your company the more chances you have of being able to recruit people to join your team.

Material life special reports, ebooks, podcast, video and audio can all be created to enhance your credibility and unlike the brochure that everyone in your company uses, this is exclusive only to you (and perhaps the members of your team).

I have just provided you with 11 ways to enjoy success with network marketing that will ensure your business stays on the road to success. If you haven’t done this already I encourage you to stop reading and start writing down what your goals are for your business over the next 12 months. Also think about what you have to do to make that happen.

Stay focused, know your direction, get help from your sponsor and make sure you continually support those you introduce. Do these things and you will soon find yourself running a very profitable network marketing team.

The first year in network marketing can be very fustrating to a lot of people. I’ve been in and out of network marketing for 4 years now and it has had its bumps. Trying to go to all the meetings and trying to get new people to see your presentation is the hardest part of it all. I can remember going out at 11pm to put out fliers on window shields, taking surveys from perfect strangers, and cold calling people in the phone book.

As a new entrepreneur in network marketing there are a lot of things to learn. One must learn how to market and talk to people to succeed in the industry. I’v personally know young network marketers whom are very good at the business. One of my friends is only 24 years old and just bought a new Cadillac Escalade compliments of the business.

There is only one reason most people dont succeed in network Marketing; Lead generation. I’m not talking about just the internet. I’m talking about putting an ad in the classifieds, using postcard mailings, forming joint ventures with other professionals and services, free radio & tv advertisement. Ther are a lot of venues that most network markerts don’t use. It all comes to knowledge and using it properly. The network marketers that are making 100K and up are using these resources to make their dreams come true. Its also true that some people are born to talk. I would have to say these are natural network marketers.

My advice for the network marketers in there first year would be learn…learn….learn. Take it slow and learn all you can about marketing especially. Once you learn how to market you can make any business succeed.

You know have you ever been in network marketing before? Many of you have no doubt. Well, perhaps you will relate to my story.

Before I tell my story my name is Jonathon I am a business marketing consultant. I have been associated with network marketing for 7 years now. I have seen many companies come & go.

Many had many different marketing plans some of which were great as well as some that were not quite as good.

There is a lot of confusion out there as to how to be successful at network marketing. Some of it works & some of it does not.

When I first started in network marketing do you relate to this?

Go to meetings, recruit, recruit, recruit, harass your family, friends, and anyone who breathes on two legs is a prospect, if you’re not talking you’re not selling, put on meetings in your home. Do any of these things sound familiar to you?….

I did many of these things that were mentioned. We got a few people signed up; however, we could have done better. How about you? Did these ways of doing your business work for you?

The problem with this old school network marketing model is it just doesn’t work anymore. It is outdated & is totally ineffective.

The other problem is when new people get started in this industry many of them do not have what it takes; they do not have the intentions of becoming the network marketing professional they need to be.

They also are not aware what it takes to succeed in the business world and are not prepared for that kind of information.

What other problem is there in this industry? The other problem is the focus is in the wrong place. The network marketing company is focused on the product or the compensation plan.

Is this really going to prove to be an effective way to bring new people in the business as a whole? The is no’.

People don’t care about that. Great products are dime a dozen and so are business opportunities. It is great salesmanship and great marketing, that is hard to come by.

Nothing Else In Business Matters If Good Sales & Marketing Are Not Being Used

When I shifted my focus from product to sales & marketing everything changed. Things started to really click and shift my business into overdrive.

The wealthiest people in the network marketing field have all got this one thing in common.

They know how to sell. Themselves. Their product…Their ideas….their services.

There is a problem that can’t be ignored…

I have discovered there are great deal of lies and falsehoods, myths, misconceptions out there that are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

As I mentioned at the beginning. Selling has become a dirty word in network marketing . This is because it has as many misconceptions as how network marketing is done. This is why it is also usually ineffective.

What do you think good selling is? Selling is the exchange of goods or services where money exchanges hands. What is wrong with the old model? Well, often times it is too confrontational.

The other reason for this is it oftentimes ignores the prospect true wants or needs. What other problems do you think it creates?

The next problem is you are forcing a product on the prospect whether they like it or not, and this inevitably is going to result in resistance every step of the process. Then some may also approach it like an argument.

Who usually wins an argument? No one! This is not good sales!

Some network marketers believe that rejection is normal & should be accepted. Here are some questions for you to think about….Do you really believe this to be true?

What if rejection wasn’t even a factor? What about marketing? What if marketing is combined with sales? What is marketing anyway?…There is a lot of confusion about what it is and how it is to be done.

I’m sure you have heard the saying before “no one likes to be sold but everyone loves to buy” I am sure like most people you have never been given a logical meaning of what that really meant.

Well the difference lies in whose decision it is…

When You Are Trying To Sell Something To Someone It Is Your Decision Forced On Them. When Someone Wants To Buy Something IT Is Their Decision.

So if everyone loves to buy, which the key to making your job easier (and more profitable), doesn’t it make sense to focus on helping people buy what they want then trying to sell them stuff that they don’t?

This is exactly what marketing is. I like to think of marketing as creating a situation where they can buy on their own. Good marketing is about tapping into needs that already exist.

If you’re not doing that nothing else matters…

So that may prompt you to ask another question…So the next question is..what is an effective way to market your network marketing business?

Your own marketing system. Your marketing system can plant seeds (your prospects) for you. Then what’s next? Then you use one- to-one sales to close them.

That way you get more done in less time with less effort. To piece it all together to complete the puzzle. The objective of your marketing is to bring in qualified prospects.

The main goal of the sales process is to close the deal & build a relationship with the best ones.

After all that is the master plan that every network marketer should have whether they realize it or not.

I’ve been asked this question many times, “Is network marketing the same as sales?” I will provide two answers – yes and no.

You see, the network marketing industry and sales industry are actually two different industries. Although there are sales involved when it comes to network marketing, it doesn’t mean that network marketing is all about selling. Likewise, you can have overriding commissions when it comes to managing a sales team, but it is a whole new ballgame when it comes to the network marketing industry.

In network marketing, you must understand that less than 10% of the world’s population is geared for sales. What I mean by being geared for sales is that not everyone is trained like a salesman where they understand the sales psychology to ‘push for the close’. As a result, the majority of your network will consist of non-sales people.

Having sales oriented downlines is good, but in network marketing sales can only get you a short term income. You can’t sell your way to become an ‘Ambassador International Diamond’ if you know what I mean. You need to be able to duplicate your efforts and teach others how to be just like you.

When you try and duplicate a sales guy to a non-sales guy, you will find that the results will be disastrous! Because the non-sales guy is not good at talking to other people, they will look really weird when they try and hard sell their friends and family resulting in a lot of discomfort and a lot of problems!

I would rather have a team of teachers in my organization rather than a team of sales personnel. People who are in sales may spend more time selling to others rather than teaching and building a network. If I have a team of good teachers, I would teach them how to teach others to teach others! (Read this line again to understand what it means clearly.)

Duplication only works when you are able to get your downline to do the same thing that you are doing without your supervision. Otherwise, you will wind up creating a babysitting job for yourself. You will be too busy doing all the selling for your downline rather than building a network of INDEPENDENT distributors.

At the end of the day, network marketing is a business that must be worked at slowly. Building a network doesn’t happen overnight. You need a lot of perseverance and tolerance when it comes to dealing with your downline. Different people grow at a different speed so it is up to you how you help your downline in network marketing (unlike sales – if you don’t perform, you get ‘fired’).
