The Power of Network Marketing

According to a 2006 Yahoo poll, two-thirds of Americans want to venture out and create their own home business.

Most of us have been approached by someone, maybe a friend or family member, who is trying to sell us the latest vitamin or home product. They have just joined “the best company” out there and you need to get in on this deal before it’s too late.

They are Network Marketers.

This is the vision most of us get when we hear the words Network Marketing or Multi-Level Marketing.

But the truth is, when done right, Network Marketing can be one of the most powerful business plans available today. The most important part of the previous sentence is “When done RIGHT”.

Networking allows anyone and everyone the chance to create their own business. Do it for very little money down and start part time after work or on weekends.

The problem:

The lure of easy money and testimonials of a few people who are making 6 figure incomes or tens of thousands of dollars every month have drawn thousands to the ranks of network marketing. They have been promised that they too can achieve this amazing wealth but are never trained to do it. Hence around 95% of them fail.

They warn their friends to stay away and bad mouth any person or plan they see that mentions network marketing. Network marketing has become the most maligned industry in the U.S. today.

So why should you want to start a business that involves Network Marketing. Because the 6 figure income is possible; you just need to get past the negative word of mouth and see how when done properly the Network Marketing Business Plan allows you to do something you love, be your own boss and still make a very nice living.

Here are some of the top reasons you should consider network marketing as your entry into a home based business.

1. Time Leverage – For most of us, we go to work, we put in our 40 hours for the week and we get a paycheck for the hours we put in. We trade our time for money. The only way to make more money is to put in more of our time or if you’re lucky, convince your boss to increase your pay.

Networking Marketing, however, frees you up to increase the time you get paid for. As you build a team and increase the number of people working with you in your downline, you also increase the number of hours worked in the business. You get paid for your 40 hours a week but you also get paid for the hours they put in.

This is leveraging your time.

Now let’s say you decide you only want to work 10 hours this week in your network marketing business. If you have 20 people in your downline that also decide to work 10 hours this week, you will get the benefit of your hours and theirs. That’s a total of 210 hours. Can you imagine trying to work that many hours at your “real” job this week? You only need to put in 30 hours a day!

As J. Paul Getty said, “I would rather earn 1% of 100 peoples efforts than 100% of my own efforts.”

2. Duplication – According to the dictionary duplication means … “To make an exact copy of” or “To repeat”.

For network marketers it means teaching, showing and helping other people to repeat or carry out a series of actions. Duplicating yourself means teaching someone else to follow a simple set of plans and repeat what you are doing. They in turn will duplicate themselves and your business will grow. This will result in your organization growing and taking on a life of its own.

This is how to begin to leverage your time.

3. Residual Income – The true power of network marketing is the power of residual income. It is the ability to get paid over and over for years to come on the hard work you do today.

When you first start your business you have not yet duplicated and therefore don’t have any time leverage. The hard work of planting the seeds will develop and grow into a wonderful harvest. The harvest is the residual income you earn from developing and leading others in planting their seeds.

This duplication creates time leverage and in turn creates a residual payout from the work of the downline you have grown.

Working and helping others to achieve their dreams builds your success. This is the TRUE POWER of NETWORK MARKETING. Your success depends on the success of those you train. It is in your best interest to help those below you and build them up. It’s a business plan of helping others instead of climbing over and stepping on those below you to reach the top.

4. Tax Advantages – Creating a home office can be one of the smartest things you ever do. Having a network marketing business that you work out of your home allows you to take advantage of many tax savings. The only requirement is that you do your work like a business and keep records of all the things you do. A journal is a great way of doing this and it’s easy too!

By having a home office, you can write off part of your house mortgage and the costs to maintain that part of your house. You can write off your car, lunches at the restaurant, trips, and many other things you are already doing. As long as the cost is business related and you document it, you can write it off.

The tax advantages gained by opening up a network marketing business out of your home can save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars each year. So before you have even signed up any downline or sold any product, you are already, in a sense, making money from your home based business.

Network Marketing truly is a powerful business plan. It makes everyone work as a team towards a common goal; A goal of success!

No business works itself.

There is no such thing as free money.

But there is a way to leverage your time, duplicate yourself, and create a residual income that can truly make your dreams come true.

Maximizing The Effectiveness Of Your Network Marketing Advertising Dollars

It is common to assume that you want to advertise to get leads or prospects to look into your network marketing program and potentially have these prospects join your organization.

What is not commonly known to most networkers is that they can maximize the effectiveness of their advertising dollars by getting their money back either when their prospects join or do not join their program.

While this method can easily be done online, you can find a way to do it offline as well.

For the sake of this example, let’s assume that you have an online MLM to start with.

1. Your network marketing program as a back-end profit

Your intention is to quickly recoup your advertising cost before your prospects even take a look at your network marketing program.

You can do this by selling quality infoproduct, such as an ebook – educating your prospects about network marketing in particular or the products or services your network marketing company has to offer.

For example, if your prospects are internet marketers, it makes sense to tell them how internet marketing and network marketing can work together hand-in-hand nicely to further increase their income. If they have not looked into network marketing yet, it could be their big mistake as network marketing industry is not the same as it was before ten years ago.

So, creating an ebook about the topic above will probably be a good choice to introduce network marketing concept to internet marketers in general. Then, make sure you suggest a company (your network marketing company) for them to check out.

In this case, you already made upfront profit from selling your ebook, and if your customers join your network marketing program, it will be a bonus residual income for you.

What if you couldn’t create an ebook?

Try creating an e-course or starting a newsletter. Then, charge a small fee for your e-course or newsletter subscription. That will work too.

2. Your network marketing program as a front-end profit

This is a direct approach with a little twist.

You advertise your online network marketing program but before you let your prospects know more about your products or services, make sure you get their contact information first.

Their contact information could be their names, emails and phone numbers.

Then, get this information into your autoresponder or your mailing list software.

While introducing your MLM program to your prospects, your autoresponder can do an automatic follow up with your prospects.

After mailing your prospects 7 or 8 times, your prospects would either drop off from your mailing list, join your network marketing program or are not interested to join but want to keep in touch with you.

This is when you’ll introduce complementary products to your MLM business.

For example, you can inform your prospects that they can build a website to do prospecting or simply to sell something on the internet.

If your prospects are network marketers in different companies, they will be interested to know how to effectively find prospects online. If your prospects are those who look for a way to make money online, your resource will be helpful to them too. Either way, you have both covered and you’ll get commissions from every sale you recommend the complementary product.

At the same time, you still want to mention your MLM program in case they change their minds and join you in the future.

For your information, these are the two strategies that have been used by many top network marketers to make sure that they will always be in a win-win-win situation.

Now that you have this knowledge, go out and apply either one or both strategies. Of course, there are pros and cons to doing everything. So, check with your upline if these ideas might bring more success to your team.

Robert Butwin’s ‘Street Smart Network Marketing’

are somebody who wants to start your business and attain ultimate freedom using Network Marketing, you should know (or learn to know now) who Robert Butwin is.

Some of the most important things a Network Marketer should have or do to succeed are:

Join the right company.

The company you choose to represent will be your ‘car’ to your success and financial freedom. So when choosing a company, be as cautious as you would be when buying a real car. The company, the product, their marketing resources and tools should all have integrity. Find a company which sells a product that you could love and that is so good that sells itself. Choose a company that has such great marketing tools that you could easily duplicate and literally ‘plug-in’. Or a company with a duplicable business system. And of course the company should pay a juicy amount of comissions. Here is an example of a company of those qualities: Success University.

Find a mentor.

Every successful network marketer have a whole bunch of mentors, trainers or coaches. Network Marketing is about duplication! They can help you avoid the mistakes they once made in the past and help you stay on track as you move on. Mentors are valuable resources of new ideas and approaches. Communicate often with them. Successful mentors will always be happy to help because your success is their success too.

Change your mindset.

It’s all in your mind! If you believe that you can make $10,000 per month, then you CAN! Networking mentor John Milton Fogg calls this “habitudes” or habits of attitude. In his book, Robert Butwin explains in detail the powerful ‘habitudes’ for Network Marketing. In order to be able to *do and have* what you want in life, you must first *be* the kind of person you want to become.

Set your goals.

Goals are tools to keep you focused and help you become more and more determined to succeed. Be specific when writing down your goals. How much money would you like to earn in 1 year? 2 years? 3 years? After writing it down, put your goals everywhere, so you will be able to see it all the time.

Dedicate your time and effort to your team.

Network Marketing works differently from a conventional business. In a conventional business, you work for a boss who works for his boss, and his boss works for his boss and so forth. In network marketing your focus and

dedication should go to your team, the people you lead because they joined you. Whatever you are planning to do with your business, do it for the sake of your team. Your team’s success is your success. And even with an excellent network marketing company, your upline’s success will be your success too. “No” is not a personal rejection of you.

There will be numorous of people who will say ‘no’ to your business. Don’t take it personal. Some people does not have the big picture about becoming free or about the unlimited opportunity that network marketing has to offer. No matter what you say to them, they will just never say ‘yes’. Make sure that you spend your energy only for those who share the same big picture with you. These people should be your target.
